The South Carolina Maritime Museum is always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help with daily museum operations and special events.

Volunteers have the chance to learn about South Carolina’s rich maritime history while sharing it with visitors. Opportunities include working in the museum gift shop, which plays an important role in supporting our programs and operations.

There are also volunteer roles in exhibit planning, grant writing, office support, membership assistance, the Youth Sailing Program and summer camps, and special events like the Georgetown Wooden Boat Show.

The museum is open Monday through Saturday, with flexible scheduling and two volunteer shifts available: 11 a.m.–2 p.m. and 2–5 p.m. Whether you can give a little time or a lot, your help makes a real difference, and we’d love to have you as part of our crew.
