The Harbor Historical Association (HHA) is a tax exempt 501(c)(3) group which began in 1996 with a mission to preserve and promote the maritime history of Georgetown County and South Carolina.

We thank the Georgetown community for its support of the Wooden Boat Show and related events making it a premier event of its kind on the Southeast US Coast. The successes of the Wooden Boat Show have paved the way for the creation of the South Carolina Maritime Museum. HHA is committed to fostering the growth of the Museum so that one day it too will be the best of its kind.

How can you help us grow the South Carolina Maritime Museum?

There are 3 ways:

1. Capital Giving | One time gifts to the Museum

2. Annual Giving | Annual gifts to the Museum in the form of an ongoing Membership

3. Volunteering | Donate your talents and time to the Museum

Capital Giving:

These substantial gifts will be used for mortgage debt reductions, exhibits and procurement of historic maritime items. After these capital investments are made, excess monies will be put into an endowment fund for ongoing improvements, expansions and procurements. With a minimum gift of $1,000.00, donors will be recognized appropriately in and by the Museum.

Gifts can be made in several ways as follows:

  • Cash contributions
  • Transferring of stock or mutual funds
  • Pledging of funds over a time period
  • Real estate transfers
  • Recognizing the Museum in one’s will
  • Obtaining matching gifts from employers
  • Charitable gift annuities

Since HHA has been a recognized 501(c)(3) for twenty years, all contributions are tax advantaged.

The SC Maritime Museum appreciates your donation and we guarantee that your generous gift will be used in a conscientious way to promote the continued remembrance of our Maritime Heritage.
